(A) Syn B2 is electrically pulled into the pore lumen of the αHL protein as a result of the application of a transmembrane potential. Syn B2 was added to the trans side of the lipid bilayer; (B) Syn B2 polypeptide partition into the pore lumen as a result of an electrostatic pulling force and a PEG-induced pushing force deriving from osmotic pressure.
