Experimental timeline and sample sizes for testing how time of day modulates behavioral and neuroinflammatory changes in tumor-free (surgical controls), tumor-bearing, and tumor-resected mice. Tumor-resected mice were surgically inoculated with mammary tumor cells. Between 2–3 weeks later, tumor-resected mice had tumors surgically removed, tumor-free control mice received a tumor resection sham surgery and tumor-bearing mice received a tumor induction. Behavior was tested during light or dark phase 2–3 weeks later, followed by tissue collection.
