Comparison of the portion size effect (PSE) across women with extended training in portion control (trial participants), controls with normal weight, and controls with overweight. Women consumed a significantly greater amount of food (2A) and energy (2B) as portions were increased, and these effects did not differ by training or weight status. Across meals, trained participants consumed fewer calories on average than did controls (506±15 vs 601±12 kcal), whose energy intake did not differ.
