Experimental protocol of macrophage adoptive transfer and DSS-induced colitis model. Colitis was induced via DSS administration according to the experimental protocols in Methods (A). First, peritoneal macrophages were isolated from T. spiralis-infected mice at 2 weeks post-infection. The cells were stained with CellTracker CM-DiI (Life Technologies). The mice were injected intravenously with 5 × 105 cells before the first DSS administration [day 0] (B). Second, BMDMs were isolated from C57BL/6 mice and treated with ES proteins (1 μg/mL) for 24 h.
