A) HUVECs were left to migrate towards chemoattractant solutions of 1nM VEGF165 + varying concentrations of VEGF165b. Increasing concentrations of VEGF165b inhibited the pro-migratory effect of VEGF165, as seen by a reduction of % migration. B) Pre-incubation with 0.12ng/μl of a VEGF165b blocking antibody 4 hours previously successfully rescued the inhibitory action of VEGF165b over the pro-migratory VEGF165, as seen by an increase of % migration relative to VEGF165 alone (***, p<0.001, unpaired t-test).
