Inner city, minority adolescent females (15 to 19 years of age), English speaking, owner of a working cell phone, wanting to start a birth control method and not on a method for the preceding 3 months, no contraindications to initiating a birth control method |
Interventions |
Intervention: tailored text messages about their method of contraception |
Outcomes |
Primary outcome: continuation of a birth control method at 4 months. Secondary outcomes: change in birth control method used, pregnancy |
