The secondary structure and residue number of the E. coli Che Y are presented on the top of the alignment. Red-colored background/letters depict regions of identity/similarity based on a global similarity score of 0.7. Black stars underneath the alignment depict the allosteric quartet and red stars depict the phosphorylation sensor with reference to E. coli CheY (52).
