Cartilage surface area is slightly increased with 1817 mm² compared with the mean of 1617 ± 426 mm² of the entire study group. Although the LCE was higher compared with the deep hip shown in Fig. 5 (LCE 42°), the cartilage surface area was smaller compared with that hip (1912 mm²). (C) The patient underwent a surgical hip dislocation for circumferential rim trimming. After 3 years, the patient experienced a worsening of pain and underwent total hip replacement.
