Inelastic scattering cross-section vs. energy for amorphous carbon. Panels (a) & (b) example spectra taken at 80 keV illustrates how the inelastic scattering intensity at each operating voltage was determined by integration of the zero loss peak and the inelastic scattering in a window that is 100 eV wide. Plot (c) shows the ratio of the inelastic scattering intensity to the zero loss peak at 4 different energies, plotted vs 1/β2.
