Drosophila SLC25A1-sea and SLC25A4-sesB are required for maintaining the synapse mitochondrial pool. Triple-stained muscle VI–VII third instar neuromuscular junctions from elav^c155-GAL4;w1118 wild-type larvae (n = 8) or elav^c155-GAL4 crossed to either sea^Δ24/+ (n = 8) or sesB^Org/+ (n = 7) were imaged by confocal microscopy. Cyan marks muscle with phalloidin, magenta marks neuronal plasma membrane with HRP antibodies, and yellow mitochondria with the UAS-mitochondria-GFP transgene. Boxplot depicts the ratio between the mitochondrial signal and the HRP signal. Comparisons between genotypes were performed with one-way ANOVA followed by Fisher's multiple comparison.
