Comparison of 8‐week cord blood CD133⁺ cell TPOFLK‐ or K36EG‐stimulated expansion in liquid culture clonogenic assay. Methylcellulose‐based clonogenic assays were performed every 2 weeks from aliquots of expanding CD133⁺ cells under TPOLFK or K36EG stimuli. This permitted frequency calculation of colony‐forming‐cells (CFC) per 10⁴ CD133⁺ expanding cells. TPOFLK maintained a higher CFC frequency over 8 weeks than K36EG. This was particularly significant at weeks 4, 6 and 8 (*P < 0.01). Results are expressed as mean ± SEM of six distinct experiments performed in duplicates.
