Significant group by drug interaction on emotion attributions. (a) Oxytocin, relative to placebo, did not modulate attributions in BDD versus HC participants in self-referent contexts.(b) Oxytocin led to greater internal attributions in BDD versus HC participants. Post hoc comparisons showed a significant difference between BDD and HC in the oxytocin condition, P = 0.008, 95% CI:[1.441, 9.167], but not in the placebo condition. Within the BDD group, oxytocin also had a significant effect on worsening attributions, relative to placebo, P = 0.007, 95% CI: [−4.229, −.727], and no drug effect within the HC group.
