Catalytic activity of PAS-A. (A) [α-³²P]ATP (lanes 1 and 3) or [γ-³²P]ATP (lanes 2 and 4) was used as phosphodonor and mixed with PAS-A in the absence (lanes 1 and 2) or the presence (lanes 3 and 4) of unlabeled ADP. (B) [α-³²P]ATP (lanes 1 and 3) or [γ-³²P]ATP (lanes 2 and 4) was used as phosphodonor and mixed with PAS-A in the absence (lanes 1 and 2) or the presence (lanes 3 and 4) of unlabeled GDP. In all cases, the reaction products were analyzed by TLC and autoradiography. The identity of the nucleotides was confirmed by comparison with nonradioactive standards run on the same TLC plate.
