miR-130b promoted invasion by targeting TIMP-2 in A549 cells. Control (mock) or miR-130b-overexpressing A549 cells (130b) were transfected with the control vector (empty) or TIMP-2 expression vector (TIMP-2) for 48 h. Cells were then subjected to western blot analysis (A), invasion assays (B), and gelatine-zymography (C). Uncropped Western blot and zymography data are shown in Supplementary Fig. 10. Representative results from three independent experiments are shown. The numbers indicate the relative expression of TIMP-2 compared to that of control (mock/empty) A549 cells, as analyzed by densitometry (A,C). Data are the means ± standard deviations of three independent experiments in A, B, and C. *p < 0.05 for one-way analysis of variance followed by post-hoc Bonferroni multiple comparison tests.
