Longitudinal changes in brain age gap across brain regions. The distribution of brain age gaps across brain regions based on the longitudinal 1.5 T MRI sample. Brain age gaps from the MS sample are compared with the cross-sectional 3 T HC sample and residualized for age, age2, sex, and scanner. The full brain estimates showed a significant accelerated rate of brain aging compared to chronological aging [annual increase in brain age gap 0.41 (p = 0.008)].
