Cut3 and Cut14 hinges form a heterodimer containing two interfaces. (B) To understand condensin hinge’s function, conserved L/S/G/A amino acids were selected for site-directed mutagenesis. 31 mutations in Cut3 hinge and 27 mutations in Cut14 hinge were designed. Site-directed mutagenesis and isolation of condensin hinge ts mutants followed the procedure described in Figure 2B.
