Effects of SHINBARO on proinflammatory cytokines in the LSS rat model. (a) Serum was collected from rats with LSS and was analyzed for IL-1β and TNF-α levels using an ELISA kit. The data are expressed as the mean ± SD (n = 5). (b) The mRNA expression of IL-1β and TNF-α in a spinal cord tissue was determined by real-time RT-PCR. The results were normalized using β-actin as an internal control. The data are expressed as the mean ± SD (n = 4). (c) The expression of proinflammatory cytokines in spinal cord tissues was determined by western blot analysis. β-Actin was used as an internal control. Relative intensity of indicated proteins was semiquantified using the NIH ImageJ software.
