Renal inflammatory cytokines are not altered in DJ‐1 ^−/− mice. Wild‐type mice were treated with tempol or vehicle as described in Figure 2. Kidney mRNA expression of interleukin‐6 (Il‐6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (Tnf‐α), chemokine (C‐C motif) ligand 2 (Ccl‐2), and nuclear factor κ‐light‐chain‐enhancer of activated B cells (NFkB) was quantified by quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction, and normalized by GAPDH. No differences were found between groups. Data are expressed as mean±SE, n=4 per group.
