Hematoxylin and eosin stained specimen of a typical FTL impact at 5 W, 20 mJ. The changes in the epidermis and at the DEJ are mild and very transient, allowing for controlled side effects and shorter downtime, but with good restoration of the epidermis. The controlled dermal coagulation is sufficent to ensure induction of the wound healing process with collagenesis and elastinogenesis in the superficial dermis, followed by ECM remodelling.
