DIM treatment inhibits the apoptosis of renal tubular epithelial cells in mice with LPS-triggered acute kidney injury. Mice were exposed to LPS (10 mg/kg), DIM (40 mg/kg) or LPS + DIM (10 mg + 40 mg) for 24 h after which (A) the apoptosis of renal tubular epithelial cells was determined by TUNEL staining and (B) the expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved PARP were determined by western blot analysis. *P<0.05 vs. control. DIM, 3,3′-diindolylmethane; LPS, lipopolysaccharide; PARP, poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase.
