Fig. 4 — Bilayer charge differentially affects G_s and G_i3 coupling. The effect of G_s (left) and G_i3 (right) concentration on mB−β₂AR fluorescence was examined in nanodisc bilayers of varying phospholipid composition (DOPC, DOPE, DOPG, DOPS). Epinephrine was omitted (APO) or included (30 μM). Interaction with G protein is read out as an increase in lambda max. The net charge of the phospholipid is indicated in parentheses. mB−β₂AR concentration is 100 nM; maximum stoichiometry is 12:1 (for G_s) and 24:1 (for G_i3).
