Invasion of the established (a–c) and primary ovarian cancer cells (d) through young (Y) and senescent (S) PMCs, as well as through PMCs in which certain signaling pathways and autocrine mediators, recognized to contribute to a senescence-associated decline in the level of junctional protein, were neutralized. Experiments were performed with 8 cultures of PMCs obtained from different donors. Cancer cells were used in hexaplicates. The results are expressed as the mean ± SEM. *P < 0.05 vs. Young.
