The cell printing paradigm. Cell printing involves cell incorporation or encapsulation within biomaterials possessing viscoelastic properties that allow their use as a “bioink”. Upon printing, cell-laden 3D printed structures are fabricated with the aim, ultimately, of implantation into the patient to regenerate the specific tissue of interest.
