XacFtsZ forms short polymers that tend to bundle on the EM grid. 2.6 μM or 5 μM FtsZ in TRIS50 with 10 mM MgCl₂ and 1 mM GTP was polymerized at 30°C for 0 min (a) 2 min, (b) 10 min, (c) 20 min, (d) 40 min (e), 60 min (f), 120 min (g). A sample without added GTP and incubated at 30°C for 2 min is shown in (H).
