Important study about prevention of BCG‐IRIS. It is a randomized controlled trial evaluating the early initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in HIV‐infected infants versus late ART for reducing the risk of BCG‐IRIS. Not included because it represents a different clinical question, where the condition of BCG‐induced disease (BCG‐IRIS) is the outcome to evaluate and not part of the problem/population. Ideally, the study would compare an intervention with a comparison for treating HIV‐infected infants with BCG‐IRIS. |
