The co‐expression of SLC4A11 with the water channel AQP1 in the rat ISOM. Tubular SLC4A11 is expressed predominantly in the AQP1‐positive descending thin limbs. Vascular bundle regions are identified by the expression of the urea transporter UT‐B in descending vasa recta. OMCDs, which express aquaporin 2 (AQP2), lie only in the interbundle region alongside thick ascending limbs (which are not labeled). The figure consists of a composite overlay of two transverse sections. Scale bars, 100 μm.
