The fibrinogen (Fg) binding analysis was performed in two independent experiments measured in at least five wells. Statistical differences compared to S. aureus DU5925 (negative control) used Dunnett’s multiple comparisons test (P < 0.05). “+++”: S. lugdunensis strains that bound significantly to solid-phase Fg (ordinary one-way ANOVA: ∗∗∗∗P < 0.0001, ∗∗P < 0.001, and P < 0.05), “-”: strains with binding inferior to the negative control and “+”: others strains. CC, clonal complex; ND, not determined; SSTI, skin and soft tissue infection; BJI, bone and joint infection.
