Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) regulates the expression of postsynaptic density (PSD) proteins in rat cortex. (a) Expression of proteins of interest in the PSD fraction. Proteins of S1 (20 μg) or PSD (5 μg) fractions isolated from rat cortex were analyzed by immunoblotting analysis with the indicated antibodies. (b) VNS regulated the levels of PSD proteins. PSD fractions (5 μg) isolated from the cortices of dummy (N = 4) or VNS (N = 6) treated rats were analyzed by immunoblotting analysis with indicated antibodies. (c–i) Quantitative analyses of western blot immunoreactivities shown in (b). *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, #p = 0.05, Student’s t-test.
