Peak pupil dilation size in millimeters was measured at 0-dB SNR (A) and 3-dB SNR (B) by adjusting the target speech value to less than 65-dB SPL babble noise. The vertical lines within the shaded bars represent the median values; shaded bars, interquartile ranges; the error whiskers, the highest and lowest points; and the circle beyond the highest point at the PSAP reading of the 3-dB SNR condition, an outlier.
