Infection intensity in adult female and male mosquitoes following various larval treatments. Larvae were left unmanipulated (naïve), injured, injected with heat‐killed E. coli or microspheres, or infected with E. coli, Enterobacter sp., or S. aureus. Five days after eclosion, the female and male adults were infected with E. coli, and the E. coli infection intensity was measured 24 hr later.
