Type of alcohol consumed, drinking company, and subjective response to alcohol were all retrospectively assessed to be based on the first drinking occasion on which students drank at least one standard drink. Drinking with parents was not included in the model given that no individuals who binge drank on their first drinking occasion reported drinking with their parents.
