Effect of exogenous phytohormone application on GUS expression in WRKY35:GUS root line. Subcultured roots (7 days old) were transferred to GB as control (A,D,G,J,M,P and a,b,g,j,m,p) or to GB containing SA (1, 5 mM; B,C, b,c), IBA (1, 10 µM; E,F, e,f), IAA (1, 5 µM; H,I; h,i), BA (0.1, 0.5 µM; K,L, k,l), JA (10, 20 µM; N,O, n,o), MeJA (0.01, 0.1 mM; Q,R, q,r) for 16 h before root staining. GUS was detected histochemically and root elongation zone (A–R) or mature roots (a–r) were monitored. Figures are representative of at least five independent experiments. Scale bar = 0.5 mm.
