Substrate activity assay was performed to measure caspase-3 and caspase-9 activities using cytosolic proteins from hippocampus (B). (C) The active form of caspase-3 and caspase-9 were stained using anti-cleaved-caspase-3 and anti-cleaved-caspase-9. Representative confocal microscopy images of cleaved-caspase-3 and cleaved-caspase-9 were shown in (a-f). The fluorescent intensity of cle-caspase-3 and cle-caspase-9 were analyzed and shown in (g and h). (D) Apoptotic cells were stained by TUNEL staining as shown in (a-c).
