Inhalation flow against time profiles of two different inhalation manoeuvres through a dry powder inhaler (DPI). The two profiles have the same peak inhalation flow. The one with the steep acceleration is a forceful inhalation from the start of an inhalation (solid line) whereas the profile with a gentler acceleration is an inhalation manoeuvre that starts slowly and gradually builds up into a flow that is as fast as possible (dashed line).
