a

All exposures were associated with dietary vitamin B6 intake, with P<0.001 for trends across categories, except for history of diabetes in men (P=0.057), history of hypertension in men (P=0.007) and women (P=0.006).

b

Food intake (except for energy) was energy-adjusted by residual methods.

c

Income level, four categories: Low: less than ¥10000 per family per year for women and less than ¥500 per person per month for men; lower middle: ¥10000–19999 per family per year for women and ¥500–999 per person per month for men; Upper middle: ¥20000–29999 per family per year for women and ¥1000–1999 per person per month for men; high: greater than ¥30000 per family per year for women and more than ¥2000 per person per month for men.
