Enzymatic hydrolysis was performed in 20 mL reaction mixtures at a 20% (w/v) solids loading with 40 and 60 FPU of Cellic CTec3/g glucan at pH 4.8, 50 °C, and 200 rpm. For cellulase recycling at the next-round enzymatic hydrolysis, the liquid fraction obtained from preceding rounds of enzymatic hydrolysis was directly applied to fresh pretreated EFBs with sodium citrate buffer (50 mM, pH 4.8).
