At 10–12 week-old, smLRP1−/− and control mice received either regular chow or were orally treated with pioglitazone (20 mg/kg/day) incorporated into the chow for 5 weeks. Data were generated at the age of 10–12 and 15–17 weeks, and are shown as mean ± SEM. Statistically significant differences between groups are indicated with stars (*p<0.05; **p<0.01; student’s t-test or ANOVA, Bonferroni posthoc test).
