HNr production and release by astrocytes in vitro. Cultured astrocytes were incubated with estradiol (E) and progesterone (P). HNr secreted levels were determined in conditioned media by ELISA. Harvested cells from additional cultures were immunostained for HNr and analyzed by flow cytometry.
