Time courses for the effect of i.t. or i.p. injection of saline, MMP-2 inhibitor or MMP-9 inhibitor on bone cancer pain. Bone cancer model mice were i.p injected with 50 μg of MMP-2 or MMP-9 inhibitor (a, b) or i.t. injected with 0.5 μg of MMP-2 or MMP-9 inhibitor (c, d); and weight bearing (a, c) and surface resting (b, d) were measured as described in the legend for  Figure 2. The values shown are the mean ± SD (n=6). Student's t-test was applied for statistical analysis. P < 0.05 compared to saline.
