Immunopanned rat astrocytes gradually mature in serum‐free media. (a) Identification of astrocyte maturation markers by RNA‐seq. We performed RNA‐seq of acutely purified human astrocytes at the immature (18‐week gestation) and mature (8–63 years old) stages (Zhang, Sloan, et al., 2016) and identified six of the top differentially expressed genes at the immature and mature stages.
