Schematic representation of the right ventricular myofiber orientation. On the epicardial surface, circumferentially oriented myofibers are present; these myofibers encompass the subpulmonary infundibulum and advance more or less parallel with the atrioventricular groove. At the apex, this layer spirals into the deep layer of the RV. This subendocardial fiber orientation is rather longitudinal (as shown inside the cavity)
