Induction of LXR target gene expression by Oxy186 and LXR agonist TO901317 (TO). (a) NIH3T3 cells and (b) HepG2 cells were treated with DMEM containing 5% FBS in the presence or absence of TO (2 µM) or Oxy186 (10 µM). After 48 h, RNA was extracted and analyzed by Q-RT-PCR for the expression of LXR target genes Abca1 in NIH3T3 cells and SREBP1c in HepG2 cells and normalized to Oaz1 or GAPDH expression, respectively. Data from a representative experiment are reported as the mean of triplicate determinations ± SD (** p < 0.01 vs. control).
