MSN-EuGd@CPT-TAT-HA enters the cell membrane by binding to CD44 receptor on tumor cells. Then, after the HA (Hyaluronic acid) is hydrolyzed by the HAase (Hyaluronidase) between the cell membrane and the endosome and caused the proton sponge effect [32] to escape endosome, the exposed TAT peptide on MSN (mesoporous silica nanoparticles) is used to deliver the MSN to the nucleus for drug release.
