Figure 7

Effect of intra‐posterodorsal medial amygdala (MePD) administered corticotrophin‐releasing hormone (CRF) on the timing of puberty and body weight change. Chronic infusion of CRF (0.2 nmol day‐1) via an osmotic mini‐pump for 14 days starting from postnatal day 24 into the MePD significantly delayed the day of vaginal opening (F 3,20 = 5.927, = 0.005) (A) and first oestrus (F 3,20 = 6.637, < 0.05) (B) compared to non‐surgical (< 0.05) and artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF) control groups (< 0.05), as well as the misplaced cannulae (Mis) group (< 0.05). Chronic intra‐MePD infusion of CRF had no significant effects on the body weight gain (C) compared to the control groups and misplaced cannulae group (F 3,576 = 0.280, > 0.05). Data are presented as the mean ± SEM. *< 0.05 vs control groups (n = 7‐9 per group). Misplaced cannula group (n = 3)
