Subdistribution hazard ratio of stroke increased 1.72-fold in patients with cancer compared with noncancer matched controls under adjustment by all-cause mortality as a competing risk. At the end of the 1-year follow-up, the cumulative rates of stroke were 1.26% in patients with cancer and 0.78% in noncancer matched controls.
