Effect of 10 µM xanthone derivatives 30–40 and nutlin-3A on the growth of yeast co-expressing p53 and MDM2 after 42 h treatment; results were plotted setting as 100% the growth of yeast transformed with the empty vector (control yeast); nutlin-3A (inhibitor of the MDM2-p53 interaction) was used as positive control. Data are mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM) of three independent experiments; mean values were statistically analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Tukey’s multiple comparisons test, with significant differences from yeast co-expressing MDM2-p53 treated with DMSO.
