Cerulein acute pancreatitis was induced in rats as indicated in Figure 3A. Neutrophil infiltration within pancreas (A) or lungs (B) was assessed by measuring myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in tissue homogenates and expressed as units of MPO activity per tissue weight. Expression levels of MPO, TNFa and IL6 were measured in pancreas (C) and lung (D) tissues by qPCR. Data in graphs represent mean ± SD of the values from 4–8 rats per group.
