Yellow shows the location of the coding sequences for the signal peptide, orange those for a coding exon common to all transcripts, black coding exons for DH31 itself and green and purple those for other putative neuropeptides. The structure of the Tenebrio gene is translucent to indicate that it is only inferred from those of Hycleus and Tribolium based on the very similar sequences of their respective DH31 transcripts. To the left is a phylogenetic tree in order to facilitate comparing sequences with evolution, to the right are the various transcripts that are produced from these genes by alternative splicing.
