General study design to compare two CKD rodent models. Two weeks after surgery, groups AD-2K and AD-1K were fed an AD diet over 3 weeks. The control group was sham-operated and fed a standard rodent chow. Parameters to monitor disease progression were frequently assessed throughout the study.
