The sequence reported by Goldman et. al. was designed to act on the full singlet spin order (I₁⋅I₂), and thus heteronuclear decoupling (indicated by red bars) on the ¹H channel was applied during hydrogenation (here, MLEV1642). Contrary, PH‐INEPT+ was designed for longitudinal spin order l_1zl_2z. Therefore, no decoupling was applied so that longitudinal spin order I_1zI_2z prevailed after the hydrogenation.
